BTL 22 Marquette Rose
Dry Rosé Wine
-
This Marquette Rosé was made to capture the beautiful flavor of Marquette. The grapes were pressed off as soon as they reached the press pad to minimize skin contact time which allowed it to retain a vibrant pink hue. This wine drinks dry and would pair perfectly with salmon or chicken on a hot summer day.

Marquette being a teinturier grape (red fleshed) provides challenges in creating a nice light pink rose. For Harvest 2021 we ran the harvester up two of our long rows of North Block Marquette and brought the fruit to the press as quickly as possible to not extract color from the skins and flesh. While pressing we seperated our light pressing (100 millibars to 750 millibars) and hard pressing (750 millibars to 1.5 bars) into seperate tanks. This allowed us to control color extraction. The hard pressing tank was blended into our Marquette Unoaked program and the light pressing tank was used for this Rose.
