87 Points - The Cork Report

"I never expected to like a 5% RS rose as much as I do this wine from the northernmost edge of Michigan. But here we are – and that's why you need to taste everything and not pre-judge based on a number or a grape name. Speaking of grape names, this wine is 85% frontenac gris and 15% frontenac noir – both University of Minnesota-born grapes.

It's very fruity on the nose, with ripe, almost red wine-like aromas of black cherry and currant backed by peachy-mango notes that veer more into the rose world.

The palate is similarly fruity, dominated by flavors of juicy strawberries and currants with hints of that peachy tropical fruit again. Though noticeably sweet up front, there is plenty of underripe blueberry acidity here that slices through the residual sugar, making the long finish almost feel dry.

This isn't a wine to ponder or pontificate about. It's a fruity, satisfying wine to enjoy with charcuterie or a sunny summer day. My bottle didn't last long with family and friends once the tasting was done."

This wine is the dream realized. It was the first fruit ever harvested of our estate 3 years ago and has been a best seller ever since. Dominated by beautiful strawberry notes and has zippy acidity that makes you long for that second drink. It's great for a warm summer day and paired with salmon or any other lite fair.
